How to Set Up Donations on Mixer – Everything You Need to Know
One of the ways that gaming streamers earn money from their channel is through tips and donations. Although you could make money through other platforms, such as Facebook Gaming Stars and Twitch Bits, those platforms take a cut on your earnings. But with Mixer, the donations and tips are given to the streamer from the viewer.
How to Set Up Donations on Mixer
When it comes to setting up donations on Mixer, there are two options. You can set up a link on your profile to your Cash App, Venmo, or PayPal and let your viewers donate that way. PayPal is by far the easiest platform to link to since you can easily set up a business account. A business account will make it so you can track your taxes easier in the long run. However, you can use your personal account as well. The only downside to that is if you use a personal account, everyone who donates will be able to see your email.
There are a few different third-party services that are designed specifically for donations to game streamers. Each of these platforms works differently and must be set up independently of your Mixer stream. Most of these platforms offer more than just donation functionality as well. They can provide access to different features that can enhance your stream to make it even better.
Mac users will find that it’s a bit harder to donate through third-party platforms because some are only available for Xbox One and Windows 10.
PayPal: You can quickly leave a link in your bio that will direct viewers to your PayPal account, which will allow them to donate that way.
StreamJar: This is a free service that allows you to accept tips and gives viewers incentives after they donate. SteamJar doesn’t take any cuts from the tips you earn.
StreamLabs: This is a free service designed specifically for Windows. It allows you to accept donations through PayPal, adds an overlay to your stream, and is open-source. SteamLabs also gives you access to chats so you can stay in touch with your viewers while you stream.
